Midlands Events Volunteer Training Sessions Date: every 3rd Thursday of the month Time: 10:00 am Location: Lutheran Hospice - 1505 Blanding St., Columbia, SC 29201 Details: Join us for our monthly training session to learn more about Lutheran Hospice and our volunteer program. Coming by our office does not mean you have to sign up on the spot, but it is a good start to learning more about what our agency AND volunteers do for our patients. Midlands Office Grief and Loss Support Group Date: January 9, 23; February 6, 20 ; March 5, 19 Time: 12 p.m. – 1:00 p.m Location: Lutheran Hospice Conference Room -1505 Blanding St., Columbia, SC 29201 Details: The small support group is for adults who have experienced a death of a loved one and want to share their experience with other bereaved persons. Through the Valley Bereavement Support Group Date: beginning Tuesday, September 13 (meets for 10 weeks) Time: 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm Location: The Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 2600 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC Details: The target audience of this support group is adults who have suffered an adult loss, including a spouse, a parent, or a grown son or daughter. Five Wishes Date: January 5 Time: 10:00 am – 11:00 am Cost: FREE Location: Faith Sellers Senior Center, 312 North Laurel Street, Summerville, SC29483 Details: Lutheran Hospice will be presenting a Five Wishes Program to help participants know how to express their personal, emotional and spiritual desires as well as their medical wishes if they become seriously ill and cannot speak for themselves. Five Wishes discusses:
·Who you want to make health care decisions for you when you can't make them. ·The kind of medical treatment you want or don't want. ·How comfortable you want to be. ·How you want people to treat you. ·What you want your loved ones to know
